Move signals firm's continued expansion into MetroWest market

Fallon Ambulance Service announced the opening of a new service facility at 55 Rumford Avenue in Waltham.

The move signals the company's increased commitment to expansion in the MetroWest market, said Peter Racicot, Senior Vice President.

Fallon Ambulance presently services a number of MetroWest healthcare facilities, including Newton Healthcare Center, Chetwynde Health & Rehab Center, the Beth Israel Deaconness in Needham, Epoch Senior Health of Chestnut Hill, and Elliott Healthcare Center in Natick. Racicot said he anticipates the company's marketshare in MetroWest to increase dramatically with the presence of the office.

"We are actively seeking additional MetroWest healthcare facilities to work with," said Racicot, adding, “We are also very interested in competing for the chance to offer primary 911 coverage for key communities."

The new 5,000 square foot facility will be staffed by 14 professionals including Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. In addition to supporting Fallon's existing MetroWest client base, the Waltham location will support the ambulance firm's other operations as well. Fallon Ambulance provides 911 service to Brookline, Dedham, Quincy, Milton, Braintree, and Weymouth.

"Although we have grown significantly in the last decade, there has been a perception that we are a South Shore company," said Racicot. "While that is our base of operations, we have been expanding into the MetroWest area for a number of years. The new office affords us the opportunity to be an even greater presence in this growing region."

Free CPR Classes and other community initiatives to be offered

In conjunction with the launch of their new office, Fallon Ambulance will offer a series of free CPR classes to the Waltham community. There will be additional community initiatives that will be announced also, Racicot said.

"We are here for the long haul, and we plan to be very active in MetroWest," said Racicot. “From our state of the art communication center in Quincy we are able to provide medical transportation for the residents within our area of coverage. Our commitment to the region is long standing and as an active member of the Metro West Area Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council Special tactics and Response Division (Metro-STAR), a consortium of 43 local police and sheriff's departments located south of Boston, we are a respected presence in the area."
