Our medical professionals have an unmatched understanding of both the personal and medical needs of their patients. An understanding of a patient's personal needs is something that can't be taught. It comes from the heart.

On the other hand, an understanding of a patient's medical needs comes from a combination of experience and education. All Fallon ALS and BLS EMT's maintain certifications and training that meet or exceed established state and federal guidelines, and allow each EMT the opportunity to grow as a care provider. We also provide our EMT's with continuing education and training throughout the course of the year.

We maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with some of the region's finest medical facilities, including:

Professional Education programs include:

Basic Trauma Life Support for the EMT-B and First Responder
This program is a 16 hour hands-on training course offering basic EMS personnel complete training in the skills necessary for rapid assessment, resuscitation, stabilization and transportation of trauma patients. The course is designed for providers providing initial evaluation and stabilization of the trauma patient.

Basic Trauma Life Support for Paramedics and Advanced EMS Providers
This program is a 16 hour comprehensive course covering the skills necessary for rapid assessment, resuscitation, stabilization and transportation of trauma patients. Created for the advanced EMT, paramedic and trauma nurse, the primary objectives of the course are to teach the correct sequence of evaluation and the techniques of resuscitation and packaging a patient.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
This program covers Basic Life Support training and features:

  • Background information about normal cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
  • Background information about cardiovascular dysfunction (diseases)

  • The technical aspects of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) , including performance skills such as foreign body airway obstruction management

Protecting Your Back
This program is designed for nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other healthcare workers who provide direct care. These professionals are constantly lifting loads as heavy as those lifted by construction workers. But the loads are far more precious, flexible and sometimes uncooperative. Using proper body mechanics can protect your back and your patients. The program consists of a review of patient transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.

ALS/BLS Ambulance In-Service
This program orients nursing staff and members of the community with both ALS and BLS ambulance services. This in-service:

  • Prepare nursing staffers to call for an ambulance
  • Provides the necessary information to complete a smooth patient transfer
  • Explains the differences between ALS and BLS, and explores the different functions

Mock Code Scenario
At the conclusion of this program, the group will review the performance of all participants. The following issues will be examined and critiqued:

  • Following established procedures and protocols
  • Recognition of a resident in trouble
  • Appropriate notification of the most appropriate EMS agency
  • CPR performance
  • Code 99 procedures
  • Good interfacing between agencies
  • Use of needed staff and delegation of tasks
  • ALS care in the facility
  • Safe patient handling techniques from facility to ambulance

Diabetic Emergencies
At the conclusion of this session the participant will be able to:

  • Describe the anatomy and physiology of the healthy endocrine system
  • Describe how insulin is used by the body for fuel use
  • Identify the pathophysiology of diabetes
  • Recognize the patient with hyper/hypoglycemia by exam
  • Show an understanding of the common diabetic medications, including insulin
  • Be cognizant of co-morbid factors related to the patient with diabetes

National Safety Council First Aid Training Certification
Upon completion of this program, you will have certification from the National Safety Council. This course is given at different levels.

  • Level One (2-6 hrs) is ideal for youth groups, office workers, restaurant and hotel employees
  • Level Two (6-16 hrs) fits the needs of corporate and on-the-job work site training. This course should be taken, whenever possible, rather than the Level One course
  • Level Three (16-40 hrs) is for safety and health professionals and public service workers who require advanced training and certification
