At Fallon Ambulance Service, we take pride in our ability to add to a community's quality of life. Fallon Ambulance has always played a very visible, active and important role in the communities we serve. It's the kind of community involvement that you simply won't find with other ambulance services.

  • Our impact is both local and global. We donated a fully-equipped chair coach to a Plymouth family to transport their handicapped child. We also donated ambulances for use in Haiti and the Dominican Republic to improve medical services in these countries.
  • We offer our communities a wide range of classes, seminars and demonstrations. For example, we provided CPR training to 125 teachers, staff and coaches at Weymouth High School. We also ensured that the senior class at Randolph High School graduated with CPR training. And we regularly visit grade schools throughout the region and perform educational demonstrations for children.
  • We contribute both financially and on a volunteer basis to worthy causes like the Jimmy Fund, Pan Mass Challenge, American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, Hospice, Massachusetts Easter Seals, United Way, South Shore Association for Retarded Citizens, Visiting Nurse Agencies, Community Health Centers and many others.
  • We sponsor EMT training scholarship programs in a number of area town and cities.
  • We worked with the town of Brookline to install defibrillators in three municipal buildings and trained staff members and volunteer on the defibrillators proper use. We also installed defibrillators in Brookline's police cruisers.

Emergency First Aid Community Programs
Fallon Ambulance also offer an array of educational programs for the general public, including CPR training to town employees, school personnel and students, and a variety of health and safety-oriented programs. These classes all follow guidelines set by the National Safety Council First Aid Institute. Community Education programs include:

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
This program covers Basic Life Support training and features:

  • Background information about normal cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
  • Background information about cardiovascular dysfunction (diseases)
  • The principles of primary prevention (risk factors and Prudent Heart Living) and secondary prevention (signs of heart attack, actions for survival, prevention of unnecessary mortality from heart attack and other common causes of sudden death)
  • The technical aspects of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) , including performance skills such as foreign body airway obstruction management

ALS/BLS Ambulance In-Service
This program orients nursing staff and members of the community with both ALS and BLS ambulance services. This in-service:

  • Prepare nursing staffers to call for an ambulance
  • Provides the necessary information to complete a smooth patient transfer
  • Explains the differences between ALS and BLS, and explores the different functions

National Safety Council First Aid Training Certification
Upon completion of this program, you will have certification from the National Safety Council. This course is given at different levels.

  • Level One (2-6 hrs) is ideal for youth groups, office workers, restaurant and hotel employees
  • Level Two (6-16 hrs) fits the needs of corporate and on-the-job work site training. This course should be taken, whenever possible, rather than the Level One course
  • Level Three (16-40 hrs) is for safety and health professionals and public service workers who require advanced training and certification
